Mark Gautreau, a fish biologist at UNB’s Canadian Rivers Institute has collected specimens and written notes for much of his career on the great diversity of aquatic species in the province. This guide by Gautreau, along with the institute’s project director Allen Curry, gives descriptions of New Brunswick’s freshwater fish species, their behaviour and habitat, where to find them, their conservation status, and how they change depending on the seasons.
